Following the publication of the joint consultation conclusions paper on the Updated Technical Specifications for Reporting by the Regulators on 26 September 2024, the HKTR has maintained a close dialogue with the industry, including TR members and reporting agents, to support their preparation and system readiness for ISO implementation.
In response to industry feedback, the HKTR system launch date for ISO 20022 standard implementation will be advanced to 22 September 2025 prior to the regulatory implementation date of 29 September 2025, providing the industry with an additional cushion of one-week period to prepare for the migration process if necessary.
Please note that the regulatory implementation date of 29 September 2025 remains unchanged, and reporting entities are not required to begin reporting new trades in the ISO format until that date. However, those that opt to switch to ISO format during the buffer period will be considered compliant with the pre-implementation requirements, and should not report the same trades in the pre-ISO system.
